Malawi’s highly applauded gospel artist, ECG based worshipper in Lilongwe, Wendy Harawa has secured a place, making it to the top 15 finalists in the category of 2019 Maranatha worship award nominees taking place in Kenya.
This splendid hosted occasion is to acknowledge the authenticity of the Biblical music worship in Africa. Her song “Chisomo” that is yet to be released features the Nigerian “Jimmy De Psalmist”& “Lulu”. Malawi’s guru was also nominated for two categories. One for the outstanding petition and supplication song of excellence and the other is outstanding collaboration song of Excellence.
“I am so excited about the nominations, this is my first ever gospel album and it is due to be released in June this year, but out of 53 participating countries, “Chisomo” has made it to top 15 and it is already receiving a huge airplay beyond our borders”, Wendy told ECG news online.
“It has been a year since I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, and this is the first song released but nominated already, it is only by His grace that I am proud to publicly declare that Jesus is my boss and where I am right now is the right place”, she cheerfully added.
Also in the interview, Wendy revealed about her upcoming album which brings out music that feeds the soul, where she is going to express herself to God through worship and simultaneously speaking to the audience at the same time.
Wendy also said that she is grateful that she has competed with great African gospel artists all around the world and also that she was honoured to perform at the grand stage at the most prestigious awards ceremony on 12 May in Nairobi. In the interview, Wendy took the opportunity to reveal that her upcoming album is about the music that feeds the soul, in which she is expressing herself to God through worship and speaking to people at the same time. Wendy said she is grateful competing with great African gospel artist from across the world, she has also been honoured to perform at the grand stage of the continent’s most prestigious awards ceremony on 12th May in Nairobi.
She also claimed “A request to all my brothers and sisters where ever you are, please vote for me, for the name of God to continually be glorified.”
